3. When does this cookie statement apply?
This cookie statement applies to all information that I store and/or access in your peripheral equipment via an electronic communications network when you visit my website. I can store information or gain access to information by placing cookies on your computer or by using similar techniques. In some cases, your personal data will be processed in this process.

4. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on the hard drive of your computer by the server of the website you are visiting. The next time you visit the website, the server receives this information again, so that your computer is recognized. This is necessary for an optimal user experience of the website, for example, but cookies can also be used for other purposes. Cookies are, in principle, harmless and can easily be deleted by users.
For some types of cookies, there is a legal obligation to ask permission from users before they can be placed. There are three types of cookies: functional cookies, analytical cookies and tracking cookies. We also know subvariants, such as social media cookies and optimization cookies.
a) Functional cookies
Functional cookies are cookies that are necessary for a website to work properly and securely. Thanks to these cookies, an optimal user experience of the website can be provided, for example by remembering your login details, language choice or other preferences.
There are two types of functional cookies: session cookies and permanent cookies. The session cookies are automatically deleted immediately after your visit, as soon as the session has ended. They are not stored on the hard drive of your computer. The permanent cookies are stored on your computer. Functional cookies may be placed without your permission, as long as you are informed of this. I use functional cookies.
b) Analytical cookies
Analytical cookies are cookies that ensure that a website can be improved and optimized. By using analytical cookies, for example, insight can be gained into how often a blog article is read, how long it takes for pages to load and what the users of the website click on. Analytical cookies with little impact on your privacy may be placed without your permission, as long as you are informed of this. Privacy-sensitive analytical cookies may only be placed with your permission. I use analytical cookies.
c) Tracking cookies
Tracking cookies are cookies that can be used to track your surfing behaviour, so that advertisements and the content of websites are tailored to your interests and preferences.
d) Social media cookies
Social media cookies are cookies that allow social media channels such as Facebook and LinkedIn to register which articles and pages you share via their social media sharing buttons, which are placed on websites. These buttons work via pieces of code that originate from these networks themselves. Cookies are placed on the relevant website by means of this code. The website owner has no or limited influence on this. They can also contain tracking cookies that track your surfing behaviour on the web. Therefore, read the privacy statement of the respective social media company to read what they do with the (personal) data that they process via these cookies. I use social media cookies.
e) Optimisation cookies
Optimisation cookies (site improvement cookies or A/B testing cookies) are cookies that can be used to test different versions of a web page to see which page is visited the most.
f) Google
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google ads cookies are cookies that are used to gain insight into the use of websites and to improve their performance and to personalise the (advertising) experience. Google can use this to identify your web browser and collect (anonymized) data about your visit to the website and your surfing behaviour.

5. On what grounds do I process personal data via cookies?
I only process personal data via cookies if I have a good reason to do so. The GDPR lists reasons (grounds) I may process personal data. The following grounds may apply if I process personal data via cookies:
I. I have obtained your consent.
II. I need the data to pursue my legitimate interest.

6. For what purposes do I place cookies?
Cookies can be placed for different purposes. It differs per purpose who places the cookies, whether and which personal data is processed, on what basis the data is processed, and how long the cookies remain stored on your computer.
I process personal data via cookies exclusively based off the "consent" basis, unless it is explicitly stated that I process personal data based off my legitimate interest. All cookies that I place remain on your browser until you delete them, unless an expiration period is indicated or until you withdraw your consent. Below is an overview of the different purposes for which cookies are placed. When you visit my website, cookies are placed:
1) To offer you an optimal user experience
I use cookies to offer the best possible user experience, for example, by remembering certain preferences. I do not ask permission for these cookies.
2) To improve my website
I use cookies to analyse the behaviour of my website visitors. I place analytical cookies with little impact on your privacy without your permission. I only place privacy-sensitive analytical cookies with your permission.
3) So that you can easily share information on social media channels
I have placed social media sharing buttons on my website. With these buttons you can easily share articles and pages on social media channels. These buttons work via pieces of code that come from these networks themselves. Cookies are placed on my website by means of this code. I have no or limited influence on this.

7. How do I ask your permission?
For some cookies, there is a legal obligation to ask your permission before they can be placed on your computer. On your first visit to my website, or on your next visit to my website after you have deleted previously placed cookies, I ask your permission for the placement of cookies by means of a cookie banner.

8. How can you withdraw your consent?
I only place privacy-sensitive cookies if I have obtained your consent. Once you have given your consent, you can withdraw it at any time in the same way in which you gave your consent. It is possible that my website will not work as well if you withdraw your consent. After you have withdrawn your consent, I will delete all data that I have collected via the cookies.

9. How can you block or delete cookies?
You can easily block and delete cookies yourself via your internet browser. You can also use the settings of your internet browser to ensure that you receive a message as soon as a cookie is placed, or that certain cookies may not be placed. If you delete cookies in your browser, this may affect the proper functioning and user experience of my website. I can then no longer guarantee the proper and pleasant functioning of my website. The way in which you can adjust your settings differs per browser. If necessary, consult the help function of your browser.

10. New developments and unforeseen cookies
It is possible that third parties place cookies on my website without my knowledge. You will not find these cookies in this cookie statement. For example, on my website I can share embedded content that is hosted on other sites, such as YouTube videos. Cookies are often used for this. However, I have no control over what these third parties do with their cookies.
Do you come across a cookie on my website that is not listed in this cookie statement? Please contact me by sending an email to kim@greenladybugadmin.com.

11. How is the collected information secured?
I take the protection of your data seriously and take appropriate organizational and technical measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized modification. My privacy statement contains more information about the security measures I take.

12. How is the collected information shared?
I do not share information that I have collected with functional cookies with third parties. Information that I have obtained with analytical cookies I only share with third parties after I have anonymized this data or after I have received your permission to share it. By using social media buttons on my website, your information is shared with the relevant social media organization. I only use social media buttons from organizations that participate in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

13. What are your rights?
Under the GDPR, you have the following privacy rights about the personal data that I process about you:
• Right of access: you may view the data
• Right to rectification and supplementation: you may change the data
• Right to delete data: you may have incorrect information deleted
• Right to data portability: you may request the data from me to store or pass it on yourself
• Right to limit processing: you may request me to process less personal data
• Right to object: you may object to the processing.
If you wish to invoke one of these privacy rights, please contact kim@greenladybugadmin.com. I will process your request or complaint within 30 days. If it concerns multiple requests or complaints or if your request or complaint is complex, I will need some more time and will contact you within 60 days at the latest. When it concerns access to personal data linked to a cookie, I ask you to send a copy of the cookie in question. You can find this in the settings of your browser.
To be sure that the request or complaint actually comes from you, I may ask you to identify yourself. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (www.autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

14. Changes to this statement
I can change the content of this cookie statement at any time and for any reason. I therefore recommend that you consult my cookie statement regularly.
